Application Development
Tinxa Finance
A five-step loan application rebuilt as three.
Mobile-first, frictionless, and built to last.
When dealing with personal finances, consumers want a painless experience. The challenge wasn't just designing a better form — it was rethinking the entire application flow from the ground up.
The Problem
Tinxa Finance was launching a new installment loan product allowing pre-approved customers to select their loan amount and number of installments. The existing short-term loan application told the cautionary tale: too many steps, a cumbersome experience, confusing navigation, and high drop-off rates before completion. Competitive research confirmed the problem extended across the market — most financial products lacked quality mobile optimization, a critical gap given the vast majority of the target audience would be applying from their phones.

Challenge
Design an application flow that was streamlined, mobile-optimized, and significantly better than both the existing product and the competition. While most products utilized five steps, the goal was aggressive: complete the application in no more than three.

Goal
A painless application experience users could complete quickly and confidently from any device. With over 90% of the audience using mobile devices, mobile optimization wasn't a feature — it was the foundation.

The Approach
Competitive analysis mapped common practices and identified opportunities. The existing application was audited to understand where users struggled. Working with operations, product, and marketing teams, essential information was reorganized to reduce cognitive load.

Insight
Users needed manageable, bite-sized form entry. Progressive disclosure would prevent overwhelm while maintaining momentum. Three steps — organized around what users were providing rather than internal business needs — achieved the goal.
The Work
Personal Information, Employment Information, Bank Information — three logical steps replacing the typical five-step flow. Mobile optimization focused on appropriate input types, generous touch targets, and clear navigation.
A comprehensive Review & Edit step gave users confidence before submission — displaying the entire application at a glance with the ability to edit any section directly. Pre-approved users continued directly to loan selection already logged in.

The Outcome
Over 90% of applications came from mobile devices. Users completed the application quickly and confidently. The seamless transition for pre-approved users created a frictionless path from application to funding.

Takeaway
Balancing stakeholder requirements with user needs is where the best product decisions get made. Angular as the frontend technology delivered a first-class product built to last.
